In ten live, televised hearings held from June to December 2022, the January 6 committee presents a step-by-step narrative of the pressure campaign, misinformation, and behind-the-scenes machinations that preceded the attack on the U.S. Capitol. Using sworn testimony from officials and insiders, contemporaneous messages, and extensive video evidence, the hearings track efforts to influence state results, enlist the United States Department of Justice, and pressure Vice President Mike Pence, before examining the breakdown of security and command on January 6 itself. The hearings conclude with the committee’s final public session and its vote to issue criminal referrals, ahead of the release of its final report.
